Biography

Margaret Randolph was born on 25 February 1656/7 (1657 in modern reckoning) in Moreton Morrell, Warwickshire, England, the youngest of seven known children and four daughters of Richard and Elizabeth Ryland Randolph. [1]
She married Edward Traylor and bore him two known children, both sons:
  1. William Traylor
  2. Edward Traylor.
On 4 April 1726, when she was sixty-one, she died on Turkey Island in Henrico County, Virginia.

The Traylors in Henrico County, Virginia

Edward Traylor, of Hampton Parish, England, came to Virginia in 1663. He, with his wife, Martha Randolph, and three children, were living in Henrico county when he died, in 1677. His widow married Porter, about 1680, and was again a widow as her will showed when probated at Henrico Courthouse in 1682. This document left her estate to her daughter, Mrs. William Hankins, and her two sons, Edward, and William.
William Traylor married Dec. 5, 1695, to Judith, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Harris Archer, son of George Archer, who was born in 1650, and lived on his land grant on Tunstall Creek, in Henrico county. His grandson-in-law, William Traylor, lived on a grant of improved lands on Mooning Creek in the same county. The first of this family was Gabriel Archer, whose name is the only one accompanying that of Capt. John Smith on a monument at the head of the oldest residential street in Richmond, Va. It is in a small park on the James River, and commemorates their landing in 1607. The name Archer is Norman-English and claims descent from Baron Archer, whose name is found in Battle Abbey on the Battle of Hastings.
The children of William and Judith Archer Traylor were Joseph, John, and Humphrey. The latter inherited his estate by will probated in 1753.
Humphrey Traylor, Jr. married in 1736, and lived all his life on his estate in Henrico County, where he died in 1790. His children were as follows: George, Humphrey, Marjory, and Frederick. They inherited the estate by order of court, April 1791.
Humphrey Traylor, Jr. married in 1770, Sarah the daughter of John Cousins, son of Charles and Marjory Cousins, who came to Virginia from Lancastershire, England, where they owned valuable lands. Their children were as follows: James who married a Sutherlin: Elizabeth who married a McDonald; Frances who married George Pegram; Martha who married Joseph Davis; Robert, not married; James who married a Cardwell, … the narrative ends at this point.[2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Margaret by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Margaret:

I see that Franklin Randolph, "A Compendium to the Martha Randolph Confusion," is talking about Martha not Margaret marrying Edward Traylor Sr

Confusion reigns here too.

Also See: J McKinney I would like to propose that we take a look at Randolph-112 as the father of Margaret. It appears that Randolph-13 is her uncle instead of her father. Edward Traylor Sr. was married to Martha Randolph, daughter of Henry Randolph. This information comes from her will dated 1725. posted Jan 16, 2017 by J McKinney reply flag move to G2G thank J

First son born 1670 when she is 5 years old ( b.1665.) This needs work.

Also Traylor name not listed in the Randolphs of Virginia -- William of Turkey Island Randolph branch nor in the Henry Randolph 1 branch by Grady Lee Randolph 1990

Here is a source that lists Margaret as Richard Randolph's daughter so she was indeed a Randolph. You can look at it online. It's considered to be a reliable source by the Magna Carta project.

Her birth makes her too young to be the mother of the children shown. This profile really needs some work.

It does need some work! I'm busy working on her father, Richard Randolph, for the magna carta project and taking a genealogy course and working on my ancestors and working so I don't have time right now. Maybe I can work on her later.

I believe there is sufficient evidence that she was not the daughter of Richard Randolph. Please see https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/traylor/701/ in addition to all the comments on the parent's profiles and on this profile.

Count D'Angleville's Living Descendants of Blood Royal Vol. 4, print page 170; digital page 183- bottom of page.
Please provide the source.
Interesting, most (all?) of the sources here refer back to unsourced ancestry trees. The discussion link is hardly a source, more a musing. It is peppered throughout with "(Now it is possible, (but unlikely)"; "Fits rather well together, like 2 pieces of a jigsaw puzzle."; and "I can not find another Traylor who (better) fits the 1st incomplete record."

We need to find that will from 1725. Is Count D'Angleville's Living Descendants of Blood Royal considered a valid source?

I for one do not concur. Show us the source and it will be considered.

Randolph-363 and Randolph-253 appear to represent the same person because: Please take another look at these two profiles. The location at birth needs to be reconciled, but they appear to be the same person.
Randolph-253 and Randolph-363 do not represent the same person because: It appears that they are sisters rather than the same person
