Father James Ransom (1713-1773), Mother Sarah Treadway (1711-1793), grandfather Robert Ransom.
Married Sarah Bigelow (d. 1793) Nov 19, 1761 Colchester.
Sibs: Eight recorded children's births in Colchester, CT: Elias (1736/7), James (1738/9), Amasa (1741), Alice (1743), Asahel (1754), Lois (1748) Elijah (1751), Israel (1753-1758).
As Sarah Bigelow Ransom married again Ichabod Hopkins) in 1774 Elias must have died previous to this. The 1799 death date that is widespread for this Elias is probably his son's Elias' (b.1762) death date. Find a Grave has an Elias Ransom (1737-1775) death in Great Barrington[1] The dates are a little off (the grave is hard to read and perhaps it was misread?), but it's a more likely death for our Elias. Many Ancestry profiles online have a death date of Dec 3, 1774 (after the April marriage of Sarah to Ichabod but still within reason?).
