Mary Sarah Rashleigh was born in about August 1864 in Uny Lelant, Cornwall [1]. She was the daughter of John Drew Rashleigh and Elizabeth Thomas. She lived with her parents as a young girl [2].
As a teenager she entered domestic service with her younger sister Grace Rashleigh at the Tregenna Castle Hotel, St. Ives [3].
Mary married Frederick William Edwards on the 29th January 1883 in Lelant, Cornwall. She was 18 years 5 months old [4][5].
Frederick and Mary continued to live in the Camborne area where he worked as a tin miner [6][7][8]. There they raised their family of three girls and a boy [9].
Mary died on the 26th October 1926 in Gwenapp. She was 62 years 2 months old [10]. She was buried on the 31st October in the parish of Lanner [11]
