Mildred was born on the 15th July 1920 in St. Cleer, Liskeard, Cornwall [1]. She was the daughter of Arthur Edwin Rashleigh and Minnie Edith Gill. As a young girl she lived with her mother in St. Cleer, Cornwall while her father was away at sea [2]. As a young woman she was still with her parents in Plymouth employed as a domestic servant [3].
Mildred was married about August 1941 to John Scantlebury in Plymouth, Devon [4].
She continued to live in Plymouth for the rest of her life. She died in about December 1997 in Plymouth. She was aged 77 years 5 months [5].
