Biography
Mary Victoria Rawson was the daughter of William M. Rawson and Mary Ann Faulkner born on August 14, 1872 in Leake County, Mississippi. Victoria is the granddaughter of Bluford S. Rawson and Lucinda Burch.
Victoria married Henry S. Shields September 27, 1894 in Leake County, Mississippi.[1]
In 1880, Mary Victoria lived with her parents and siblings at Beat 2, Leake County, Mississippi. The 1880 Census taken in June lists her age as 7 which would be consistent with her birth date of 1872.[2]
In 1910, Mary, Henry, and their children, Andrew, John, Lessie, and Harvey, lived at Beat 2, Leake County, Mississippi.[3]
In 1920, Mary, Henry, and children, Willie (probably John W.), Lessie, Harvey, Bessie, and Alsie, lived at Beat 2, Carthage, Leake County, Mississippi.[4]
In 1930, Mary, Henry, and children, John, Lessie, Harvey, Bessie, and Alsey, were living on Goshen Road at Beat 2. Leake County, Mississippi.[5]
In 1940, Victoria, Henry, and son, Alcey, lived at Beat 2, Leake County, Mississippi.[6]
Victoria died April 3, 1956 and is buried in Goshen Memorial Garden on Goshen Road just east of Carthage, Mississippi.[7]
