Millie was born in Tennessee in 1812[1][2] and married John F. Ditty in 1835 in White County (currently Putnam County), Tennessee. Around 1846, however, the couple moved to St. Clair County, Missouri. Her husband and eldest son, James, died soon thereafter from a "winter fever" affecting many settlers in the area and her father-in-law, Abraham B. Ditty, took Millie and her surviving children to live with them in Putnam County, Tennessee[3][4]. She was living in Appleton, St. Clair, Missouri during the 1860[5] and 1880[6] Censuses.
Research Notes
Can you help add more sourced information to Millie Ditty's profile? A fellow descendant received a family tree registering Millie's death date as 28 Jan 1873 in Appleton City. I suspect that date may be accurate, but the year is not, as we have evidence she was living during the 1880 Census (as cited above).
