He moved with his parents to MO in 1838, where his father died when he was seven years old. He enrolled in the 25th regiment of the MO Militia at St. Joseph MO the 9th of September 1862. Discharged 12 Jan. 1863. In just a few years the family moved to Elmwood, Nebraska. In 1874-1875 the family moved to TX and located south of Fort Worth near Richards sister Maranda Mickey. Eliza Jane died at the home of Maranda in Bosque Co, TX, 23 Feb 1878. Richard Franklin died 18 Jan 1897 near Fort Worth of Tetanus after being kicked by a horse. Buried in Caddo Cemetery near Joshua, TX. They had a set of triplets born and died august 19 1868, buried in a field on the Nebraska homestead. [1]
