Biography

James Rea was born about 1788 in Virginia [1][2] (possibly Augusta County).

He married Elizabeth Sisney or Cisney, about 1806.

James Rea bought property in Hopkins County, Kentucky in 1818 from Melza Brown. [citation needed]

James sold property in Robertson county, Tennessee in 1818. [citation needed] If this is the case, most likely his older children were born in Tennessee, possibly Robertson County.

Elizabeth died 25 Aug 1852 and on 9 November 1865 in Hopkins County, Kentucky, he married Emily Williams.[3]

James died prior to 25 November 1868, date on Administrator's Bond for his estate. [4]

His purported Find A Grave memorial shows that he died 14 November 1868, but no specific sources were provided, nor a tombstone photo.[5]

We know that he was born in Virginia, but the specific county, e.g., Augusta, has not been validated. His purported Find A Grave memorial doesn't show a tombstone nor specific information regarding the vitals, birth and death dates, and specific places. If anyone has any sources regarding this please let me know. Thanks.

I agree, Augusta County has not been validated as his birth place, despite what Find A Grave shows.

I changed his death date to before 25 November 1868. An administrator for his estate, A Dockery, was appointed on that date.
