Mary (Read) Keen was born in Wetheringsett, Suffolk, England.

Mary was baptised in All Saints Wetheringsett on 3 November 1676, the daughter of John Reade and Martha.^[1]

She married Henry Keene in All Saints Wetheringsett on 7 October 1697.^[2]

Mary and Henry had six children:

• Sarah Kene (1702/3).^[5]
• Robert Kene (1707).^[6]
• James Kene (1709/10).^[7]
• Charles Kene (1711/2).^[8]
