Biography
Elizabeth Read, the 2nd daughter named Elizabeth (both by the 2nd wife of William Read of Weymouth and then Boston).
Elizabeth Read (name is spelled "Read" by Anderson in Great Migration Series.)[1]
Origin
Elizabeth was born 22 April 1669 at Boston, Massachusetts.[1][2] She was baptized on 25 April 1669 at the church of Boston.[1] She was the youngest of William Read and his 2nd wife, Ruth Crooke.[1] The parents has moved from Weymouth to Boston in about 1646.[1] The parents were admitted to the Boston church on 15 May 1647.[1]
No further information is known.[1]
Research Note
- Name error: Anderson in his Great Migration article inexplicably says "John Reade" was born 22 April 1669. However, if you check the sources he gives, it was "Elizabeth of William & Ruth Read born Apr. 22. 1669" - this is a straight editorial error on Anderson's part. This is also confirmed by the Reade article in the Connecticut Nutmegger. The child born 22 April 1669 was Elizabeth, and not John.
