Biography

Claude was born 7 Aug 1743 and baptized the same day at Ste-Anne-de-Detroit. He is the son of Pierre Reaume and Susanne Hubert dit Lacroix.[1][2]

He married Genevieve Janis 7 Jan 1766 at the Church of the Hurons, Sandwich. Permission was obtained from the pastor of Ste Anne Detroit to be married by the Missionary of the Hurons at Sandwich "en consideration des glaces et de difficulte du passage de la riviere" (The Detroit River was mostly frozen)[3]

He passed away and was buried 6 Jun 1827 at St Jean Baptiste de Amherstberg. [4]
