Biography
Andrew W. Rector was married to Elizabeth Coons. They had at least two children:
- John W. Rector, b. Jan 1833 in Yates, NY;
- Hannah E. Rector, b. 1835 in Yates, NY.
Andrew W. Rector died on 10 November 1886 and was buried at Nettle Valley Cemetery, Potter, Yates county, New York. [1] Andrew W. Rector left a Will. [2]
Note on origin and spelling of surnames
The surname Rector is the anglicised spelling of the German surname Richter and Dutch surname Rechter (both meaning Judge). Coons is the anglicised spelling of the Dutch surname Coens, Koens, a patronymic derived from the longer Coenrads, Koenrads (meaning Conrad's son).
