Lemuel married Esther Crossman in Fraserville, Nova Scotia on December 8, 1882[2]. On their marriage registration, Lemuel's occupation was listed as "Farmer".
Lemuel died in Apple River, Nova Scotia on July 3, 1941[3], and was buried in Advocate Cemetery, Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia[4]. On his death registration, Lemuel's occupation was listed as "Farmer".

According to his marriage record, Lemuel was born at Diligent River, the son of Robert Rector and Mary Dow. He married Esther Crossman on Dec 08, 1882 at Fraserville (Baptist). He gives his age as (23), residence Fraserville, and he is a farmer like his father. Esther is 20, a spinster, birthplace Maitland, the daughter of Samuel (a ship builder) and Mary A. Crossman. [5]
According to his death certificate, ‘Lemuel Robert Rector’ passed away on July 03, 1941 at Apple River, age 81 years, 6 months. His date of birth is given as Jan 01, 1860, and his parents are identified as Robert Rector and Mary A. Dow. His wife, ‘Ester Rector’ survives him, and (daughter) ‘Mrs Lawson Dow’ is the informant on the record).[6]
