Biography

Emma Redkison was born on 6 January 1822. She was the daughter of Thomas Redkison and Mary Goodman

She married Charles John Bartlett on 19 August 1844 at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, London. [1]

In the 1851 census she was listed at living in Skinner Street, St Pancras, London aged 29. She was living with her husband Charles who was listed as a linen draper aged 26 and her children Letitia aged 5, Robert aged 4, and William Alfred aged 1.[2]

She emigrated to New Zealand on the ship "Robert Small" on 16 October 1858 with her husband and family.

Emma died on 24 December 1869, at her residence in Grove street, in the Wood, Nelson. She was 48 years old. Her husband had died two months earlier of injuries suffered when a cart and cab collided. In her will she lists herself as a draper.[5]
