Biography

Rebecca (Redman) Bruce is a part of US Black heritage.

Ann Rebecca was born about 1845 in Hardy County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Robert Redman and Lucy Redman.[1]

She married Sandford Bruce on November 13, 1868 in Moorefield, Hardy County, West Virginia.[2][3]

In 1910, she and Sandford were living in Grant, West Virginia. His older brother, Hannibal Bruce, was also in the household.[4] Rebecca & Sandford had been married for 44 years and she is listed as the mother of eight children, six living.

She passed away on July 22, 1926 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.[5] She was buried in West Alexander Cemetery in West Alexander, Washington County, Pennsylvania.[6]
