Biography

Birth and Parents

John Redman was born in Wiltshire, England.

John, the second son and fourth of nine children of James Redman and Ann Culley (1794-1888) was born in 1830 and christened on 7 March of that year at Melksham, Wiltshire, England.^[1]

Marriages and Children

John, occupation File Cutter, was married twice. He married 1) Caroline Orrivilla Chick (1829-1853), the daughter of Abraham and Mary Polly (Ham) Chick on 3 July 1851 at Lowell, Massachusetts.^[2] There were no children from this union.

John married 2) Roxanna Blanchard, the daughter of Edward and Lucy (Bates) Blanchard on 26 August 1854 at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.^[3]They had eight children born at Massachusetts.

Death and Burial

John J. Redman died on 6 April 1899 in his 69th year at Lowell, Massachusetts. ^[4]
