Mrs. Florence Reece Queen, age 94, native and lifelong resident of Union County, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, GA.
Mrs. Queen was a daughter of the late Eli Reece and Sally L. Stephens Reece. She was a homemaker and had been preceded in death by her husband, Knox Queen, who passed away in 1973. Mrs. Queen had beena member of Youngstown Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and Herb Simmons, of Fayetteville, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Ruth Queen, of Blairsville, Georgia; daughter, Katherine Gorman, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Elaine Queen of Blairsville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Stanley Jones of Chesapeake, Virginia; brother, Weldon Reece of Augusta, Georgia; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 20, 2004 in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. Harrison Bradley and Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music was presented by The Kelley Trio. The following gentlemen served as Pallbearers: Larry Hutson, Ricky Lance, Bill Wilson, Bobby Joe Queen, Louis Hughes and Richard Reece. Burial was in the Queen Cemetery in Blairsville.
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was entrusted by the family for the arrangements.
