It is sometimes claimed that Lydia died on 18 November 1804, but that was a different Lydia Reed (who married John Jacobs). Our Lydia (Reed) Lewis was still alive in 1807 or 1808 (birth of her youngest child Horace). Unless Peleg Lewis had a second wife, it appears that Lydia was still alive during the 1820 Census.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Lydia by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Lydia:
