Biography

John Reed (b-9 Dec 1814), never a robust man, was stricken with "lung fever" at an early age and died 27 January 1854. His wife, Mary D O'Brien (b-6 Apr 1816), who he married 31 Dec 1840, died 4 months later on 3 May 1854. Two of their orphaned daughters lived with his brother Ralph Cowgill Reed, and another brother, Isaac, took care of the other.
