George Somers Reed, son of William Reed & Elizabeth Sommers, was baptised on 18 November 1832 in Ilfracombe, Devon, England.[1]
In the 1841 census George (age 8) was living with his parents and 4 siblings at Albert Place in Ilfracombe, Devon, England.[2]
He married Mary Harding in Barnstaple, Devon in 1858. [3]
In the 1891 census George (age 57) was living with his wife and 3 sons at their home in Ilfracombe, Ilfracombe, Devon, England. He was the foreman of the works local board.[4]
In the 1901 census George (age 68) was the forman of the works council in Ilfracombe, Devon, England. He lived with his wife and two adult sons, both journeyman's assistants.[5] George Sommers Reed died on 18 July 1911 in Roath Park, Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom. His estate passed probate on 4 August 1911 in London, England.[6]
