Biography

William Otis Reed was born February 1, 1869 and is the son of Eugenius Reed and Margaret Molisee.[1] William grew up in Valley, West Virginia[2] along with nine siblings; George Allen Reed, Luvara A Reed, Virginia K Reed, Carrie Belle Reed, Thornton Hays Reed, Minnie Lee Reed, Lizzie F Reed and Tishie Pearl Reed.

William married Bessie Rebecka Keener January 29, 1894 [3][4] and they made their home in Upper Tyrone Township, Pennsylvania[5] and Valley, West Virginia[6][7][8][9] until his death April 8, 1950.[10][11] Together they raised ten children; Ada Bell Reed,[12] Edna Ellen Reed, Emery Olen 'Dutch' Reed, Pauline Mildred Reed, Lucille Opal Reed, Jeanette Leverta Reed, Gladys Viola Reed, Hazel Delores Reed,[13] Helen Elizabeth Reed and Madeline Ruth Reed. He was a coal miner. William is buried in Reedsville Cemetery, Reedsville, West Virginia.[14]
