John, the second son and second of seven children of Ralph Reed and Mary Pierce was born in 1660 at Woburn, Massachusetts.
John was a weaver. He bought a lot of land from his father-in-law, Henry Baldwin in Woburn near the line of Billerica on which he moved and settled. It was afterwards occupied by his descendants, Isaiah Reed and others.[1]
Marriages and Children
John was married twice. He married 1) Elizabeth Holden (1662-1703), the daughter of Richard and Martha (Fosdick) Holden on 21 March 1682 at Woburn, Massachusetts.[2] They had four children born at Woburn:

Elizabeth Reed (b. 25 Feb 1690; d. 17 May 1764, Simsbury, CT)[5] m. 5 Feb 1712 at Cambridge, MA, Ebenezer Holden (1690-1756)
Elizabeth (Holden) Reed died in 1703 in her 41st year at Woburn, Massachusetts.
John married 2) Abigail Baldwin, the daughter of Henry and Phebe (Richardson) Baldwin on 4 December 1705 at Woburn, Massachusetts.[6] They had three children born at Woburn:
John Reed died on 9 March 1733 in his 73rd year at Woburn.[10]His will is dated 20 July 1732.[11]A copy of the Probate page indicates that his will was entered into Probate in April 1733 and that his son, Henry Reed, served as Executor. Names included in the will were wife Abigail, sons John, Ralph, Benjamin, and Henry, daughter Elizabeth (Reed) Holden and her five children.
