DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Rick or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • Rick Reed: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 67 markers, haplogroup R-JFS0004, FTDNA kit #340381
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
  • Rick Reed: Family Tree DNA mtDNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup T2a1a, FTDNA kit #340381
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Rick:

Hello again! I posted a comment two weeks ago and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well! Do you want to remain in the Germany Project? If I don’t hear back from you by the end of November, I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, always welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes, Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi Rick,

Just thought I'd check in with you and see how things are going. We appreciate the contributions you have made to WikiTree.

I you haven't found our list of Projects yet, it links to dozens of special interest groups at WikiTree.

Any questions just message me.

April Dauenhauer, a WikiTree Leader

Please change your privacy level to "Private with Public Family Tree" to allow your Y-DNA results to be associated with your direct paternal line.

Thanks and sincerely, Peter

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

Also I see where you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a Project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.

Welcome Rick!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community.

We are building one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to check for duplicates as you add any Profiles to WikiTree - the software automatically helps with this.

If you need any help, visit the G2G forum. You might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you.

We offer many ways to participate in WikiTree as you explore the community and connect your family with WikiTree. Thanks for offering to help build our shared tree.

April Dauenhauer - volunteer greeter

A few suggestions to get you started:

1. Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take some time to read it.

2. Feel free to ask a question at our G2G forum .

3. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.
