When Comfort Rebecca Norid Reed was born in 1736 in Frederick, Virginia, her father, John, was 36, and her mother, Mary, was 30. She married James Keith in 1755 in her hometown. They had eight children in 14 years. She died in 1778 in Manchester, Kentucky, at the age of 42.
