Biography
Captain Samuel Reed served with 9th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.
Samuel Reed was a Captain of a company of Minute men Col. William Prescott's regiment which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, and serving in Prescott's 9th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
Samuel Reed was born on April 3, 1737 in Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay. His parents were Benjamin Reed and Rebecca Stone. [7] [8] [9]
He married Hannah Raymond on Feb. 16, 1762 at Littleton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. [8] [9]
They had the following children, born in Littleton: [8] [9]
- Rebecca Reed, b. Oct. 7, 1766.
- Isaac Reed, b. Oct. 7, 1768.
- Betty Reed, b. Aug. 25, 1770.
- Daniel Reed, b. May 2, 1772.
- James Reed, b. July 15, 1774.

He died on March 9, 1806 in Littleton. [8]
