Biography

Osborn was born 8 Jun 1864 in Buffalo Township, Ogle County, Illinois. He was the son of William Reed and Elvira Mallery.[1]

In 1870 he was living in Buffalo Township, Ogle, Illinois.[2] The household included Wm S Reed 41, Elvira Reed 36, Flora Reed 14, Stella Reed 11, Alfred Reed 9, Julia Reed 4, and Edson Ramall 16. William was a farmer. Edson was a farm hand.

In 1880 he was living in Buffalo, Ogle, Illinois.[3] The household included William S Reed 51, daughter Flora E Reed 26, daughter Stella Reed 21, son Alfred Reed 19, son Osburn Reed 16 and daughter Julia E Reed 14. William was widowed and was a farmer. The children were all single.

Osborn Reed and Ora E Coursey were married 11 Jun 1884 in Polo, Ogle County, Illinois.[4][5][6][7] It was the first marriage for both. He was the son of William Reed and Elvira Mallery. She was the daughter of James A Coursey and Sarah E Smith. Ora was age 16 and permission was given for the marriage by William S Reed and by her mother Sarah E Reed. Witnesses were William S Reed and Jonas Reed.

Ora died 10 Jun 1887.[8]

Ora Reed and Frances E Stowell were married 1 Oct 1889 in Buffalo Township, Ogle, Illinois.[9][10][11][12] He was the son of William Reed and Elvira Mallory. She was the daughter of John Stowell and Sarah Grove. Both were born in Buffalo Township. It was his second marriage and her first marriage.

In 1900 he was living in Campbell Township, Greene, Missouri.[13] The household included Osborne Reed 36, wife Frances E Reed 31, son Albert W L Reed 10, son Amos C Reed 6, and son Francis O Reed 4. Osborn and Frances had been married 11 years. Frances was the mother of 5 children, 3 living. Osborn was a farmer.

In 1910 he was living in Haile, Guadalupe, New Mexico.[14] The household included Osborn Reed 45, wife Francis E Reed 39, son Amos C Reed 16, daughter Francis O Reed 12 and daughter Rena V Reed 9. Osborn and Frances had been married 20 years. Francis was the mother of 7 children, 4 living. Osborn did not list an occupation.

In 1920 he was living in Boone Township, Crawford, Missouri.[15] The household included Osborn Reed 55 and wife Francis E Reed 50. Osborn was a dairy farmer.

In 1930 he was living in Boone, Crawford, Missouri.[16] The household included Osborne Reed 65, wife Frances E Reed 60, son Chas A Reed 37, daughter-in-law Melva Reed 33, granddaughter Ava Reed 12, grandson Chas Reed Jr 9, and sister-in-law Mary E Baker 71. Osborn was a farmer with a fruit farm. Charles was a truck driver for a public service. Melva was a laborer in a shoe factory. Mary was widowed.

He was widowed when he died 18 Jun 1934 in Saint Louis, Missouri[17] and is buried in Sullivan IOOF Cemetery, Sullivan, Franklin County, Missouri.[18]
