Biography
Mamie was the first known mother of Maria Hall. After her death, her husband gave her up for adoption on June 26, 1903 in Indianapolis to William and Lula Sheppard. It is not known if Maria was her biological child or not. Her birthplace is either New York or Indiana - Censuses show Indiana, but her marriage record shows New York, which is corroborated by her death certificate. Censuses show both of her parents were born in Germany, but I have not found any record of them yet.
