Biography

When William (Rees) Reece was born on December 4, 1736, in Hopewell, Virginia, his father, Thomas, was 31 and his mother, Margaret, was 24. [1] [2] Around 1762, William moved to Rowan County, North Carolina. [3] He married Charity Dillon on August 5, 1763, in Frederick, Virginia [4] and returned to Rowan County, North Carolina to live. [5] They had at least nine children in 18 years between 1765 and 1785. By 1805, according Tennessee Tax Records, William was living in Greene County. [6] He remained in Greene County until his death on September 6, 1822, having lived a long life of 85 years. [7] [8]

Reese-1656 and Rees-2162 appear to represent the same person because: These profiles are for the same person. The last name should be Rees, instead of Reese as that is what source records indicate. Thomas Rees and his wife did not have two sons named William. There was only one and he married Charity Dillon. Please merge these two profiles.
