Biography

Harrison was born about 1805 to Reuben Reese and Charlotte Harrison (grandson of John Reese and Mary Thorpe. He had at least 5 siblings: Amy, Rivers, Rebecca, Charlotte and Mary.

He married Nancy Todd in 1826 and they had 4 children together:

1. John C Reese
2. William Henry Reese
3. Elizabeth Reese
4. Jesse Reese

He married Martha Toler in 1836 and they had 2 children together:

1. Hansel Reese
2. Mary Charlotte Reese

He married in 1846 to Eliza Norris, daughter of James Norris and Mary Ellen Davis. They had 3 children together:

Will

Will signed & dated 3 Feb 1873 in Warren County by Harrison Reese. He names his wife, Eliza Reese; his children: W.O.E. Reese, Charlotte Pate, wife of Rev John R Pate, Lavonia E Wilhite, wife of Oliver Wilhite, and Elizabeth Reynolds, wife of John Reynolds, and John Reese. He names his son, W.O.E. Reese as his Executor, and son, John, as secondary Executor. Witnessed by: H.H. Fitzpatrick, William Johnson, Jeptha M. Norris, and T.S. Hundley(sp?) J.P.

He passed away in 1875 at about the age of 70. It is not known where he is buried.

His will was proved in the Court of Ordinary in Warren County on 7 Jun 1875. Test. by: H.H. Fitzpatrick, William Johnson, Jeptha M. Norris.

Research Notes

Originally, this profile was connected to a father of Hugh Reese; however, the timeline is not possible for Hugh to be the father of Harrison. Harrison is more likely to be the son of Reuben Reese and grandson of John Reese.

There is a reference to the DOD of 5 Jun 1875 in a South Carolina obituary archived at Wofford College.
