"REES, Judson Miles Judson Miles Rees, lawyer and development/management consultant to educational and charitable institutions, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday (October 22, 2005), at age 93, at home in Ashfield, MA, with his wife and children present. Mr. Rees was a graduate of Northwood School, Lake Placid, NY, Amherst College, New York University Law School, and was a member of the Bar of New York State. In his career he served many educational and charitable institutions. He was legal counsel for Development and Assistant Vice President at New York University, Regional Director for the American National Red Cross, Associate National Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Director of Public Relations for the United Hospital Fund of New York and Director of Development at Trinity College, Hartford. He joined the consulting firm of Marts & Lundy, providing counsel to colleges and universities throughout the United States. On retirement, he helped found a firm with his son, providing development and management counsel for charitable agencies. He continued on as a senior advisor and consultant to the firm until his death. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen; his daughters Kathy, Ellen, Patricia; his son Fred; and six grandchildren. The immediate family will hold a private ceremony in Ashfield, MA. He requested that his gravestone be inscribed: Zest for Living, Loving, Learning."
