Biography
The Reeves were living in Newport, Campbell, Kentucky in 1850.[1] Samuel was working as a drayman. He had estate worth $1000. The household included Samuel and Rebecca, as well as their children Sarah, Amanda, James, Agnes, Isaac, and Stacy. Also with them were Christopher and Lucy Cochrel. Christopher was a bookkeeper.
By 1860, the Reeves had moved to Lynn Township, Warren County, Iowa.[2] Samuel was farming property worth $1500 and personal possessions worth $700. The household included Samuel and Rebecca, as well as their children Sarah, James, Agnes, Isaac, Caroline, Rebecca, and Ruth.
Still in Linn Township in 1870, the Reeves household had shrunk.[3] Samuel was still farming. His real estate was worth $4000 at this time, and his personal belongings were worth $1400. The home held Samuel and Rebecca, as well as their children Isaac, Rebecca, and Ruth. Right next door was their son, James', household. On the other side of them was their daughter Caroline McClees and her family. All the families were farming. Though still at home, Isaac's personal belongings were enumerated at $400.
