Wesley Charles Reid - Of Petaluma went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2012. Born on December 5, 1926 in Petaluma to George and Alice (Ross) Reid. He attended Petaluma and Penngrove schools. Wesley served in the United States Air Force. He worked 40+ years at the California Co-Op Creamery. He married Mary LeClair on February 13, 1948 and had two children; divorced; married Conne Freathy on June 26, 1954 and had three children. Wesley made lifelong friends from school, work, church, neighbors, Druids and Petaluma Outdoorsmen. Family vacations were spent along the Mendocino Coast and Lake Pillsbury visiting family and friends. Wesley had a BIG HEART. He would help a family member or friend in need. He grew vegetables and enjoyed sharing with the community. Wesley is pre-deceased by his parents George and Alice, brother George, sisters Dorothy, June and Barbara, wife Conne, in-laws Mary Jones and Ralph Freathy. "Big Wes" is survived by brothers Donald and Lee, sister-in-law Rosemary, children Nancy (Paul), Kenneth, Lybia (Lenard), Weslee (Lezlie) and Devra (John); grandchildren Jennifer, Aimee, Amber, Jaime, Melissa, Johnny, Seaira, Morgan, Carson, Taylor and Jaslynne, great-grandchildren Samantha, Sean Paul, Danielle, Erin, Christian, Kaylee, Allyssa, Caleb, Joseph, Lisea, Anthony and Savannah, great-great-grandson Zachary, many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and his faithful Fox Terrier Moses. A Life Memorial Celebration and Dessert Reception will be Saturday, August 11, 2012, 2:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 939 B Street, Petaluma; please wear yellow ("Chuck's" favorite color). Family wishes to THANK St. Francis Assisted Living and Memorial Hospice.
