Biography
James Reid worked as a railway surfaceman. In later years he was employed as an labourer in steel work.
He married in 1863 to Christina, third daughter of Bethia Brown and coal miner, Andrew Mitchell.
The couple settled in Bothwell and were known to have had 11 children. By 1901, the family were living at Clydesdale Road, Co-operative Building, Holytown.
James Reid died in 1907 age 70.
