(age is about right, but why would she take back her maiden name? Conclusion: this is probably not Maria Reid, who married James Braid)

1881 census:
Name Marital Status Gender Ethnic Origin Age Birthplace Occupation Religion
James BRAID M Male Scottish 32 Q <Quebec> Shoemaker Presbyterian
Maria BRAID M Female Irish 30 O <Ontario> Presbyterian
Henry BRAID Male Scottish 6 O <Ontario> Presbyterian
Mary BRAID Female Scottish 4 O <Ontario> Presbyterian
The above entry suggests, given James and Maria's marriage date of 1879, that James was a widower. I suspect that Henry and Mary were children from a previous marriage, or are children of a deceased sibling. An inspection of the 1881 census is required.
Hamilton Cemetery Information:
Section N, Lot 532 (not a huge section)
For Henry, born in England - last 178 West Avenue, 63 at death
For Mary, last residence was Toronto.
Is this the right family???
