Biography

Wesley Reid is an Anzac who served in World War Two.

Wesley was the son of Charles Wesley Reid, carpenter of Opotiki and Margaret Agatha Blain. He was employed as a driver at Waimana. In 1940 he married Gertrude May, eldest daughter of Alfred Whitman Ruff and Annie Drury. They settled at Waimana. Wesley served during WWII, Army no 536521, Rank Gunner, 2nd NZEF. Wesley and Gertrude later moved to Tauranga settling at Mt Maunganui where he operated and ran a delicatessen. In 1986, Wesley passed away age 67 and is buried at Pyes Pa, Old RSA section, Tauranga.
