Janet Reid, daughter of James Reid and Janet Reid (recorded as Henderson), was born on 24 February 1815 in Saline, Fife, Scotland and was baptised there on 12 March 1815.[1][2]
Janet Reid married John Black in Culross, Perthshire, Scotland on 1 December 1833.[3]
She passed away of valvular disease on 9 January 1888 in St George, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. "Janet Black, aged 72, widow of John Black, farm steward; parents: James Reid, farmer (dcsd), and Janet Reid.(dcsd)"[4]
Research Notes
There seems to be a disconnect with Janet. On her birth registration, her mother is named as Janet Henderson. Her death certificate says Reid. It may be her father was Reid-7419 and the mother's last name was noted incorrectly as Henderson instead of Reid. A descendant also was in contact that said Reid really was her mother's last name.
