Elizabeth was born in 1844 in Alexander County, NC. She was the daughter of Andrew Reid and Ruth Austin. On 30 Nov 1865 she married Sion Harrington Oxford and they had 9 children (per census & FAG records), 5 of which were still living in 1900. She is buried along side of her husband Sion at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Caldwell County, North Carolina.
