Biography
Susannah Reid is the youngest daughter of Dr. James Reid and Susannah (Maybank) Reid of St. Bartholomews Parish, in what is modern day Charleston County, South Carolina.
On New Years Day, 1784, Susannah married John Julius Pringle, son of Robert Pringle and Judith (Mayrant) Pringle.
Children of Susannah and John are:
John Julius Pringle, born October 18, 1784, married Mary Izard, daughter of Ralph Izard
Robert William Pringle, born October 10, 1786, died December 16, 1790
Susannah Pringle, born Janaury 8, 1789, died May 18, 1846, married William Mason Smith
Elizabeth Mary Pringle, born May 9, 1791, died April 8, 1873, married Robert Smith
Robert Pringle, born March 28, 1793, died October 26, 1860
Mary Pringle, born August 23, 1795, died early, unmarried
Edward Jenkins Pringle, married Maria Middleton, daughter of Governor Henry Middleton, and was lost with his wife and two children in the destruction of the Steamer Pulaski, in June 1838
