• Andrew's daughter was named after his grandmother, on his mother's side, whose maiden name was Agnes Raeburn.

• Andrew and his wife Emma Elizabeth immigrated from New Zealand sometime in 1877 when on the 8th of August they took on a free selection of 300 acres in the Parish of North Codrington, County of Rous in the Casino district of NSW.

• Six of their children were born in New Zealand including:

Mr. Andrew Reid, proprietor of the Richmond hotel, Sandiland Range, was drowned the other day whlle crossing a creak on his way down to see his wife, who has been under medical treatment for some time in the Casino Hospital. Mr. Reid resided for a number of years on the Tomki Estate, and was married to a daughter of Mr. Blore,- who resided for a number of years in Grafton. The deceased leaves a large family. Two of his daughters are married, and his youngest child is not twelve months old.
