Biography

Marguerite Reinhardt was born in Manhattan, New York City. Maggie was a homemaker. Both her mother, Anna, and father, Frank, were born in Germany. ^[1]

There are numerous different spellings for her first and maiden names in the available records, including Emma, Margaret, Margaritt, etc. Her birth certificate shows Emma Reinhard. ^[2] Nickname of Maggie used on the wedding certificate. Her grave marker has Margurite. Settled on Marguerite as used in newspaper accounts of wedding.

According to family lore, Marguerite collapsed and died on the sidewalk while walking home after a doctor's appointment in Hawthorne. The doctor had given her a check-up and told her she was okay to go. ^[3] Her obituary in the local newspaper confirmed the part where she collapsed and died on the sidewalk. However, she was not returning from her doctor, rather she was returning home after paying her final respects to a nephew. ^[4]

Maggie is buried at the Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ; Willow Section, Lot 169.
