Susannah was born about 1699. Documentation of her parents is needed. One source implies they may be John Rentfroe and a Mary Rentfroe who was appointed to a committee in 1722.[1] She is often shown as the daughter of John Rentfrow whose will was probated in Edgecombe County, NC on May 30, 1748.[2] and his first wife, Margaret Robinette and that is who she has been connected to here. I had disconnected her because of the year of birth given on Margaret's profile, but that is likely wrong. Renfro family researcher Otto Manshardt puts them as being married in the year 1700 so obviously Margaret was not born in the 1690's.[3] There is no evidence given of this particular John Rentfroe having a daughter named Susannah.
On the 12th day of 10th month (December per Julian Calendar used) at the New Garden monthly meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers), James Cole, Sr. and Susannah made their intention to marry. [1][4] On the ninth day of the eleventh month (January) it was noted that they could proceed no further due to "obstructions."[4] It is thought that they did eventually get married.
She reportedly passed away in 1752. citation needed
