Biography

Maria was born in New York between 1829-1832.^[1]She married Horace T. Parsons about 1846. She would have been between 15-19. Why? Because, in the 1850 Federal Census, Horace was 27, Maria was 19, and their son Clarence was 3.^[1] They are living in York, Michigan. Clarence Parsons is 13.^[2] In 1880, she is listed as "housekeeper" in the household of John Beck (20). That just meant that she was in charge of the household affairs. Horace was 57, Maria was 51, Minnie M. Parsons was 19, and Charles R. was 17.^[3] By 1894, H. T. was 71, she was 65.^[4] She died July 18, 1900 in York Township, Washtenaw, Michigan, United States.^[5][6][7]
