Note

There are two different parents given for Thomas Reynolds depending on whose research you examine. According to "Reynolds History Annotated" Thomas was the son of Christopher Reynolds and Elizabeth Mathews, and his wife was Mary Ashall daughter of George Ashall. This is incorrect, the probate records for George Ashall, 1671 and 1680, show that his daughter Elizabeth married Thomas and that his daughter Mary ( who was unmarried at the time of his will ) became the wife of Jacob Johnson. The 1680 court records show that this Thomas Reynolds had died or divorced Elizabeth, and his wife Elizabeth had remarried.

According to Boddie, our Thomas Reynolds is actually the son of Thomas Reynolds and Susan Snead. This lineage can be proved by the use of land records for York and New Kent County, Virginia.

According to the records of St. Paul's Perish Vestry, Thomas must have died sometime between 1708-1711. His son Thomas Jr. was no longer referred to as Junior after this time.
