Biography

WIlliam Rhoads was an early American colonist who lived in Tyrell County, North Carolina. He was the son of William Rhoads and his wife Elizabeth.^[1] William Rhoads served along with John Rhoads, James Rhoads, and Charles Rhoads as Soldiers of Foot under Captain Evan Jones, The 17th Jan. 1747 for the District between the Bark Poplar Swamp and Welches Creek.

William Rhoads was married to a woman named Parthenia.^[2]

William and Parthenia Rhoads were the parents of the following known children, who were named in the 1765 probate distribution of the estate of William Rhoads:^[3]

At the time the will and estate was settled, only one child, Arthur, was appointed a guardian. He was likely the only minor child in 1765.
