Biography

Rebecca Rhodes was the daughter of Zachariah Rhodes was a Commissioner sent from Massachusetts to Rhode Island August 21, 1648. He was born in 1603, and died April 10, 1666. He married March 7, 1646, Joanna Arnold, born February 27, 1617, and died in 1692. It is thought Rebecca was born on January 27, 1650/1, but no birth record is found in either Providence or Pawtucket where her parents resided. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Rebecca married first on February 2, 1671, Nicholas Power at Providence, Rhode Island. [5] Nicholas was the son of Nicholas (1) and Jane Powers, of Providence. [3] [4] [2]

Nicholas was killed in the Great Swamp Fight by a bullet from his own command on December 19, 1675. [3] [4]

She married second, on December 7, 1676 Daniel Williams. Daniel was born February 15, 1641/2, son of Roger and Mary (Bernard) Williams, [1] [6] [4] [2]

Daniel Williams died on May 14, 1712. [5][1] [4] [3]

Widow Rebecca Williams died in 1727. [1][4] [3]

Her will is dated 12 June 1725 and proved on 1 January 1727/28 in Providence, Rhode Island.[11]

Rhodes-2340 and Rhodes-228 appear to represent the same person because: Different estimated dob, but same married name and dod. Looks like a duplicate.
