Obituary: Dallas Parnell “Bill” Rhodes, 91, of Dresden died May 10, 2011, at his residence. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Maddox officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery. Danny Moubray, John Breza, Marty Dunn, Thomas Dunn, Gary Page and Randy Moubray served as pallbearers. Rhodes was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Weakley County, son of the late Jeff Pinkney and Cora Ella Dunn Rhodes. He was the widower of Valda Lee Jones Rhodes. He was a World War Army veteran stationed in the Fiji Islands. He was a millwright for Ford Motor Company in Detroit. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Donice and John Breza of Shelby Township, Mich.; one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Joanne Rhodes of Aubrey, Texas; one sister, Wilma Jean “Dunk” Morgan of Dresden; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Hattie B. “Shug” Brundige, Naomi “Amy” Owen, Alice Hornsby and Mary Taylor. Website: www.bowlinfuneralhome.com.
