Biography

Sarah Ann RHODES was born on November 9, 1822, in Fowler, Ohio, her father, Joseph Rhodes, was 43 and her mother, Mary Waterhouse , was 39. She married Julius Field HAYES and they had seven children together.

In 1850, Julius HAYS, 30, and Sarah Ann RHODES HAYS, 27, have two children: Orlando HAYS, 6, and Rosetta HAYS, 1. They are in Dwelling number 126.
In Dwelling 125, is William CRASTLEY, 32, his wife Sabrina, 26, their children: Mary CRASTLEY, 8; Maria CRASTLEY, 6; Olive CRASTLEY, 4; Lucy CRASTLEY, 2.[1]
  • 1860 CENSUS shows that Sarah Ann RHODES HAYS, 37, is a widow, with four children: Orlando, Rosetta, Sophronia, and Hubert.[2]
Her husband Julius HAYES passed away on February 14, 1855, in Fowler, Ohio, at the age of 34. They had been married 15 years.

She then married William CRATSLEY on February 15, 1862.

She died on March 21, 1878, in her hometown, at the age of 55. She is buried in Ridge Cemetery, Fowler, Trumbull, Ohio.
