Ezechias Rhodes II was a Virginia colonist.

Hezekiah Ezechias Rhodes II was born on 6 April 1696 in Christchurch, Middlesex, Virginia, the son of Hezekiah Ezechias Rhodes and Elizabeth Nicholls.

Hezekiah married Ann Hill on 8 December 1720 in Christ Church, Middlesex, Virginia.[1] Their children were:

  • Hannah Rhodes - 1717-1745
  • John Rhodes - 1721-1721
  • Elizabeth Rhodes - b. 1722
  • Susannah Rhodes - 1726- 1728.
  • Jane Rhodes - b. 1731
  • Epaphroditus Rhodes - 1735-1816

Hezekiah sold 50 acres of land in Middlesex County on 3 and 4 September 1733 to Edward Ball.[2]

Hezekiah and his brother William moved to Orange County, Virginia, around the year 1739 where they are found in the county tithe list. [3] Hezekiah died there about 1775.

Will of Hezekiah Rhodes: “In the name of God Amen the Eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty two -

  • I Hezekiah Rhodes of the County of Orange & St. Thomas's Parish, being very sick & weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God for the same & calling the mortality of my Body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it & for my Body I recomment it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors; nothing doubting but at the general resurection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God & as (touching?) such Worldly Estate werewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life,

& I give devise and dispose of this same in manner & form following - that is to say my will is that my beloved wife Ann Rhodes shall have the lent of my whole Estate should be sold at auction and equally divided among my children and grandchild that is to say Epaphroditus Rhodes, Hannah Daughaunery (Dehoney), Mary Rhodes, John Dickinson, son of Jane Dickinson, escepting one Horse called Woolf & one bridle and saddle & one gun, which he is now possessed with & all my Smiths Tools, which I give my son above equal share of my Estate

  • also my will is that my Daughter Mary should be allowed two pounds ten shillings current money out of my Estate yearly until she shall marry above her equal share of said Estate, there is one Negro boy named George which I reserve out of my will in order to sell to pay my debts and
  • I do hereby constitute & appoint my said wife and my son Epaphroditus Rhodes my joint executors of this my Last Will and Testament and do hereby utterly disalow revoke & disavow all and every other former wills and legacies by me heretofore made & I do hereby constitute & appoint this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this day and year above written”. Probated 23 September 1762. Presented in court by Ann Rhodes and Epaphroditus Rhodes, executors. Witness--W. Bell--Wm. Scott--Wm Crawford.
