Penelope was born in 1846. She is the daughter of John Rice and Bathsheba Hudson. She lived with her mother in Randolph, Arkansas. [1] They moved to Washington, Missouri before 1860.[2] She married John Ewing on 17 Apr 1864. [3] Their children were:
