Thomas was born about 1725. He passed away about between 26 Sep 1795 date his will written and when it was probated 4 Jan 1796
No documents have been found naming his wife and she is not listed in his will so probably proceeded him in death.
Nothing has been found as to where he came from.
There are some other Rices in deeds and personal tax records. John Rice is listed next to him in one of the personal tax records and was a witness for his will so he might be a relation and is not listed as a son.
The following children and sons-in-law are listed in the will
William Rice (this is not William Higgeson Rice of Caswell County NC)
Samuel Rice
Cellar Rice m. John Cardwell
Elizabeth Rice
David Rice
Esther Rice m. Henry Pamplin
Rebecca Rice m. Joseph White

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
2 Different Thomas Rice have been combined. The birth and death do not match contents in the profile including parents and the will and daughter Sarah Rice Gwyn. I new profile for the Thomas Rice-19920 with parents John and Mary and daughter Sarah will be created and the will etc info removed from this profile
What source(s) connect Thomas to these parents, John and Mary Rice? The sources on their profiles confirm a son John was born in 1728 and baptized in Christ Church, Middlesex Co., Virginia, but no mention of a Thomas born even earlier. In fact, their marriage was incorrectly listed as 1728, when in fact that was a reference to son John's baptism.
I'm not inclined to believe either connection without some kind of sourcing, but I'm concerned that John and Mary are definitely the wrong parents if their eldest child was the John born in 1728.
Rice-867 and Rice-12558 do not represent the same person because: It turns out I was trying to merge a grandfather with his grandson. Sorry about that. Nevermind! Thanks.

Family Search has this Thomas (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/KNSJ-1RY) connected to David Rice Sr. (abt.1704-) but with no sources to support the connection.
I'm not inclined to believe either connection without some kind of sourcing, but I'm concerned that John and Mary are definitely the wrong parents if their eldest child was the John born in 1728.
